Active Server Pages (ASP)

Active Server Pages, commonly referred to as ASP, is Microsoft's solution to server-side scripting. With simple HTML pages, the client (a web surfer) requests a web page from a server (some www.blah.com). The server just sends the file to the client and the page is shown on the client's browser.

Application Centre Test (ACT)

Application Centre Test (ACT) is a Microsoft load testing tool for web servers, focused on ASP.NET. It simulates various HTTP sessions from one machine. Using a bank of numerous computers, all sacking off continual HTTP requests, a significant load can be simulated. The tool can also be used for functional testing, although that is not what it is planned for. It also contains a recording function to create test cases without having to program them in.

Internet Information Services (IIS)

Internet Information Services server is a Windows Server-based web application used to deliver website content over the internet to an end-user. Internet Information Services is an installable server role, and it is bundled with all Microsoft Windows Server products. Microsoft has bundled IIS components with the professional versions of their desktop operating system products, such as Windows 10 Pro; however, IIS is typically deployed and centrally managed on one or more Microsoft Windows Servers.

Microsoft Exchange Server

Microsoft Exchange Server is Microsoft's email, calendaring, contact, development and group effort platform deployed on the Windows Server operating system for use within a business or larger enterprise.

Microsoft designed Exchange Server to give users access to the messaging platform on smartphones, tablets, desktops, and web-based systems. Telephony capabilities in Exchange Server support voice messages. Exchange users work together through calendar and document sharing. Storage and security features in the platform let organizations archive content, perform searches and execute fulfillment tasks.

SharePoint

SharePoint is a a web-based collaborative platform that integrates with Microsoft Office. Launched in 2001, SharePoint is primarily sold as a document management and storage system, but the product is highly configurable and usage varies considerably among organizations.

Skype for Business Server

Skype for Business Server is real-time communications server software that provides the infrastructure for endeavor moment messaging, presence, VoIP, ad hoc and structured conferences and PSTN connectivity through a third-party gateway or SIP trunk.
